Yamaha To Export Motorcycles From India To Other Markets Posted: 25 Mar 2011 08:27 AM PDT For quite some time now the brand Yamaha has been recording great sales figures and the credit needs to go to the recent additions, Yamaha R15 and Yamaha FZ-16. Evidently they have proved themselves that the potential the brand carries is no less than the market leaders Bajaj and Hero Honda. With initial offering Yamaha Rx100, the brand did a wonderful job and its popularity gained new heights. But then after the phase was not as profitable as they expected and after more than 20 years of existence the above two bikes helped the brand reach a position which it should have achieved way earlier. Still the business has not been as profitable as expected and focusing on the same now the company plans of exporting bikes from our very own market and even wishes to increase the production capacity of Greater Noida from current 6,00,000 units to 8,00,000 units per annum. Apart from this new ramped up production of 25 percent, the company also plans to export separate 2,00,000 units to African and South American markets. Hiroyuki Suzuki, the new managing director and chief executive of India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd, said , "We are in a very severe condition. But we aim to break even by 2013 as we are increasing our production capacity." He added, "We plan to raise the capacity of this plant to one million and, by 2013, in the domestic market we aim to sell 800,000 units and 200,000 to be exported. The African markets need basic models such as Crux and FZ and we will export YBR to South America. In Africa, you see three types of motorcycles—mopeds, scooters and street models of motorcycles. These motorcycles are also used for commercial purposes. I mean a rider can have two pillion sitting behind him and he can charge fare from them. So, we will have to change specifications of the bikes, which we plan to export," We hope for happier times for the brand and wish them luck for their future plans. Japan’s Disruptions To Spread Into Global Automobile Industry Posted: 25 Mar 2011 04:13 AM PDT Japan is one of the largest Automobile maker and has presence all over the world with various popular brands like Toyota and Nissan. With the recent earthquakes, tsunami and nuclear radiation incidents, Japan's life has been badly struck and has got off the track. People of Japan and the other countries are doing their efforts to restore normalcy in Japan, but it seems like it may take some time for the things to get back on track. With the current situation, the industries in Japan have almost come to a halt, which is not only affecting Japan, but also global automobile markets. Japan is a major supplier of Technology and automobile parts for many of Japanese and other Automobile companies across various countries. With production almost stopped at Japan, it will impact the global economy. Some of the Japanese automobile companies outside of Japan have been facing shortages of parts to assemble cars. The situation is expected to go even worse in next couple of months. We hope that Japan comes out of this situation soon and normalcy is restores to the lives of the people of Japan who have faced a very critical calamity in the recent past. We have our prayers with the people of Japan. Japan’s Disruptions To Spread Into Global Automobile Industry is a post from: Copyrights 2010 CarBlogIndia - All About Automobiles. All Rights Reserved. Harley Davidson India Will Not Increase Prices In 2011 Even After CKD Duty Hike Posted: 25 Mar 2011 03:08 AM PDT Harley Davidson India is committed to Indian business and has announced that it will take on the burden of the Extra Excise duty on itself rather than passing on to the customers! It may come as a surprise to all of us who take it for granted that the CKD is bound to increase the prices for end consumers. The Managing Director of Harley Davidson India, Anoop Prakash quoted:
We can see few reasons for this more of Harley Davidson India:
Although it may seem to some as a loss superficially, but in long run, this gesture is going to help Harley Davidson grow in India in a better way by creating a goodwill with the buyers as well as with the dealers.
