One of the finest tuned cars on display at the Geneva Motor Show – although they didn’t make a big fuss about it – was this Sportec Porsche 911 GT2 RS. This menacing beast has 800 hp and 900 Nm! They’ve upped the output of the car’s 3.6 liter biturbo engine from 620 to this colossal 800 hp and for that they’ve used new hybrid turbochargers, new manifolds, sport titanium exhausts, completely revised ECU, larger air filters and intakes, and sport camshafts. So the car now does 0 to 100 km/h in 3.1 seconds which is 0.4 of a second faster than the standard car and can reach 370 km/h top speed which is a whole 40 km/h more. The thing is, the standard GT2 RS – according to some of the very best drivers in the world – is extremely tricky to handle. So what kind of a monster is this thing?! The real beauty of this car is that apart from a few visual tweaks the loos of it remains pretty much standard. You just get a carbon spoiler lip, a set of 20-inch black wheels and that’s about it. For the sake of stability, Sportec has also lowered the car by 35mm using even shorter and stiffer springs and bolted a set of racing-grade brake discs on the car with 6-piston calipers at front and 4 at the back.

With the Fabia R2, Skoda has prepared a light and easy to handle rally car to be used in rally category R2. It is an affordable way for enthusiasts who want to try their hand at pro rallying. Skoda Fabia R2 ispowered by a 1.6 l 16V engine that makes 132 kW and 194 Nm of torque and uses a sequentially operated gearbox to send the power to the front wheels. That’s actually what limits this car’s capabilities because you can tune the engine easily, but there’s not much you can do to change the laws of physics for a FWD car! However Skoda says that compared to the series model, the undercarriage was changed considerably and the axle kinematics was adapted for its application in motor sports. The car has been developed by Impromat Car, Skoda’s motorsport partner who will also market the car. The price of the new Fabia R2 is around 62,000 EUR.

Toyota sets achieves a new milestone as worldwide cumulative sales of hybrid models surpass 3 million mark. That’s no surprise since for most people the word hybrid car is synonymous with Prius! The Prius was the first fully functional mass produced hybrid car that went on sales worldwide, but it’s not Toyota’s first hybrid. That’s be the Toyota Coaster Hybrid EV coach in August 1997. After Prius’ huge success, they launched a range of hybrid cars. Not just Toyota, their luxury arm Lexus too offers a hybrid verison of each model thy produce. Around the world Toyota currently offers 16 hybrids in around 80 countries, including MPVs, saloons, hatchbacks and SUVs, plus three commercial vehicles in Japan. Toyota reckons as of the end of February this year their hybrid cars have led to approximately 18 million fewer tons of CO2 emissions! Interesting stuff, but they should take into account the damage making a hybrid car which is a very complex process causes to the environment! Just making the lithium ion batteries is a mind-bogglingly long procedure in which materials have to be delivered from one side of the world to another. That’s not a completely green journey, is it! It might look like a Dodge Caravan to you, but it isn’t! It is the Ram Cargo Van launched by Ram Truck brand. This Pentastar V6-powered van promises best-in-class cargo space, payload and towing capability. Afzal Kahn also has new kits for the latest versions of the Range Rover Vogue and Autobiography models, just in case you thought your majestic SUV is not exclusive enough! The kits they offer include the RS450 4.4 Diesel and the RS 600 5.0 Supercharger Petrol. Visually the RS treatment includes front bumper replacement including ring bezels and 3D mesh inserts, made to incorporate the original equipment fog lamps, a RS rear bumper replacement including a exhaust diffuser, full stainless steel exhaust and a pair of RS side skirts, plus RS front grille with 3d mesh and a pair of side vents including 3D mesh inserts. The RS600 benefits form a carbon fiber package that includes 2 piece front bumper spoilers and vented wide arches with integrated rear air dam. As usual the cars get a set of Kahn Design wheels in sizes: 9.5 x 22-inch with 285 x 35 tires. The interior gets the "bespoke touch" which means it can be customized in every detail to match the customer’s specifications. Mechanically the cars are refined by Cosworth. Project Kahn had revealed their new packages for all types of Range Rover 2011 models before. Now we get to see each in new colors and more details. Check out this awesome Rs300 Sport in Black and Red. The color combination on this vehicle has made it so cool. Something that quite a few tuned Range Rovers manage to achieve. Most of them are usually quite ostentatious. The kit includes revised bumpers, mesh front grille, new side gills and door sills, plus 20-inch RS lightweight Kahn Des gin wheels. The interior has also received a treatment with lots of leather, carbon and wood in the same color combo. The car is set for just a few events in this year’s WRC calendar but it will be a full participant from 2012 onwards. This 2 minute clip produced initially for the Geneva Motor Show, boasts the brand’s rich history in rallying. They also use some footage from the Countryman WRC’s first outing in Monte Carlo where it appeared alongside the original 1960s car. Mercedes today released a bunch of new pictures of the all-new 2012 SLK Class along with the car’s official European pricing. The market launch for the new SLK is March 26 and it starts at 38,675 euros for the SLK200. SLK 200 BlueEFFICIENCY: 38,675 euros, Mercedes also boast the great features of the new SLK all over again. Stuff like the BlueEfficiency four and six cylinder engines, AIRSCARF, Innovative draught-stop system AIRGUIDE, sports suspension with harder springs and dampers, optional Dynamic Handling package, ATTENTION ASSIST, PRE-SAFE, DISTRONIC PLUS, Intelligent Light System, Speed Limit Assist, and the best feature of them all, the MAGIC SKY CONTROL panoramic folding roof. All that is very great and makes the new SLK an uncanny car as far as engineering goes. What we cannot understand about the new SLK is the way it looks. They obviously wanted to go for a more manly design over the previous generations and they pulled it off, sort of, with an SLS-inspired look. But, I don’t know it just seems ugly to us! Specially that back-end is a real mess. As for the engines, the four-cylinder engines in the SLK 200 BlueEFFICIENCY and SLK 250 BlueEFFICIENCY develop 135 kW (184 hp) and 150 kW (204 hp) respectively from a displacement of 1796 cubic centimetres. The SLK 200 BlueEFFICIENCY has the lowest CO2 emissions in its segment. With the enhanced, optional seven-speed automatic transmission 7G-TRONIC PLUS it consumes just 6.1 litres of premium petrol (NEDC, combined) over 100 kilometres, corresponding to 142 g of CO2 per kilometre. This sporty model sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.0 seconds, and achieves a top speed of 237 km/h (240 km/h with manual transmission). The SLK 250 BlueEFFICIENCY is initially equipped with the 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission (a six-speed manual transmission will become available at a later date) and consumes only 6.2 litres (NEDC, combined) per 100 kilometres (144 g of CO2 per kilometre). From standstill it reaches 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds, and it has a top speed of 243 km/h. The V6 engine in the SLK 350 BlueEFFICIENCY generates 225 kW (306 hp) from its 3498 cubic-centimetre displacement, using this power to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds (top speed 250 km/h). Its consumption is 7.1 litres (NEDC, combined) per 100 kilometres (167 g of CO2 per kilometre).

Infiniti dropped the official pricing for all 2011 ModelYear G models. If you don’t have time to check out the details after the jump, here’s the base price for each model:
Now lets take a closer look at each model and see what they have to offer. In general all G models (UK) are powered by Infiniti's high-revving 315bhp 3.7-litre petrol V6 with VVEL variable valve system for high performance with maximum efficiency. All are 155mph cars (149mph for all-wheel drive versions) with most able to accelerate from standstill to 62mph in six seconds or less. With this feature you will be able to customize cars both visually and mechanically and enter the in drift challenges and monitor the scores on the Autolog. Finally we are able to bring to you a decent set of Ferrari FF images. Shot in the desert of Abu Dhabi, these pictures reflect more on the FF’s all-terrain capabilities. There’s also a couple of interior shots. The newest Ferrari of them all might be very practical thanks to its shooting brake body and very functional thanks to its 4RM all-wheel-drive system, but it is still quite a naughty car! That is mostly due to the car’s 650 hp V12 engine. I mean you put that on a Beetle and it becomes interesting, let alone such a handsome brute. They’ve taken the FF to the desert to boast the AWD system even more. We’ve seen the car playing around in snow like a full-blooded rally car and now it takes on sand. Still, it’s not likely for the FF owners to ever take their car to such terrains because after all it is a Ferrari, but just knowing that the FF can handle situations like this is comforting. Abu Dhabi is also an appropriate place for this photoshoot since a large number of the Ferrari FFs will find a home in this wealthy city which is also the only place in the world to have a dedicated Ferrari park. In fact there’s a picture of the FF in front of the park’s roller coaster below. It’s been in the reports that the FF and the new Lamborghini Aventador are both sold out till 2012. We’re guessing half of them are ordered from the Middle East! As for the interior, it is the first time we get to see it clearly and also the boot which is spacious for sure but not what you call vast. The interior design is a mix of 599 and 458. Too bad it gets the silly steering of the 458 which has way too many knobs and buttons on it. That looks good in the pictures, but it’s proved to be a bit underwhelming in real life.

But it’s Google we’re talking about, so guess what! They’re already testing the driver-less cars in streets. Recently at the TED 2011 conference in Long Beach they set up a closed course to show their auto-driving car can also drive fast and handle well. Judging from this footage you have to say they’re right. Those things can win a race all on their own! Now car and driving enthusiasts might rightfully hate the idea of self-driving cars, but if you think about it, auto-driving cars are actually a good idea to get rid of those useless drivers who make the life a misery for other drivers. Some people just have no interest in driving and therefore they’re no good at it. The Bertone Jaguar B99 was amongst the most fascinating concept cars of 2011 Geneva Motor Show. Everybody expected Jaguar to embrace this design with open arms and turn it into a production model. But no! They don’t like it at all. Speaking to Autonews Adrian Hallmark, Jaguar’s global brand director, points out that Jaguar had nothing to do with the Bertone B99 and it doesn’t hint at any new model by the British brand. With rumors about a BMW 3-Series rival from Jaguar flying around most people thought this car could be the base for the new mid-size Jaguar sedan. If only…! Jaguar however politely refuses that and says although they like that Jaguar is so interesting that Bertone decided to come up with a concept for it, but “it is just not for us“. As you know Jaguar has tried very hard to shake off its old design characteristics and replaced all the traditional styling cues with new sort of espresso-look features to present a modern image. Yesterday Mexico’s President Felipe Calderon joined Chrysler Group CEO Sergio Marchionne at the Los Pinos Toluca Assembly Plant to celebrate the production of 2012 Fiat 500. The Mexican-built Fiat 500 will be exported to North and South American markets as well as China. The Fiat 500 is one of 16 all-new or significantly refreshed vehicles and one of two new nameplates Chrysler Group launched in 2010. Besides the Mexican government supports, Chrysler has also invested $550 million USD in this plant and created 622 jobs. By the third quarter of 2011 the Toluca plant will be exporting 120,000 vehicles. Chrysler also builds the Ram trucks and the all-new 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine in Mexico. They have six plants and 7000 employees in that country. 2012 Fiat 500 in America will get the all-new fuel-efficient 1.4-liter MultiAir engine with eco:Drive Application, plus a six-speed automatic transmission. It also benefits from TomTom Navigation with BLUE&ME Handsfree Communication technology and seven standard air bags.
