BMW 6 Series Coupe Video BMW 6er

And here’s some footage of the new 2012 BMW 6 Series Coupe in motion if the pictures won’t suffice! Just like the old one, you have to see the car in person to really judge it, but it seems alright. We to be honest didn’t like the old 6er’s design not one bit, but hey that’s us! On the other hand we loved the engineering work in that car and the attention to details which made it a very refined car. The new one will be sure a better car overall. The more tamed design will also work in its benefit now.

Chevrolet Captiva Sport

This as I’m sure you know is an Opel Antara. What General Motors does is import it to the U.S. and put a Chevrolet badge on it. There you have it, the 2012 Chevrolet Captiva Sport.

The original Chevrolet Captiva looks substantially different than this model. They’re actually doing this for a bigger share of the growing crossover market. This is not a bad idea since it’s an easier way of importing the Antara to Amercia and giving customers a new choice. The U.S.-specific version comes with a comprehensive range of features and amenities and uses fuel efficient European engines.

The Captiva Sport can be had with either an Ecotec 2.4L direct-injected four-cylinder or 3.0L direct-injected V-6 engine – each matched with a fuel-saving six-speed automatic transmission. It will become available from the fourth quarter of 2011 in LS and LT models, with four trim packages, including an all-wheel-drive model (LTZ).

Standard features on all models include All models feature 17-inch aluminum wheels, XM Satellite Radio, six-speaker sound system, four-wheel disc brakes with antilock, traction control, StabiliTrak electronic stability control, air conditioning, power locks and windows (with driver's express down) and remote keyless entry. The V6-powered LT and LTZ models also get OnStar and Bluetooth phone connectivity. A rear-view camera and leather trim package – including leather-trimmed and heated front seats – are standard on LTZ and available on other trims. The LTZ trim also includes a 10-speaker sound system and a sunroof.

"It says a lot about our ability to draw on international programs and proven, quality crossovers that we were able to identify and federalize a strong new entrant such as Captiva Sport for the U.S. market," said Alan Batey, U.S. vice president, Chevrolet Sales and Service.  "We turned to our global network for a solution to quickly meet the rising demand from local fleet customers and continue to meet strong retail demand for the Equinox."

"The range of features offered by the Captiva Sport is as rich as any Chevrolet vehicle," said Batey. "Our fleet customers will find it to be a versatile vehicle that gives them the cargo capacity they need, in a fuel efficient package that will help keep their ownership costs in check."

2012 BMW 6 Series Coupe Revealed

2012 BMW 6 Series Coupe Revealed bmw 6 coupe 2012 1

Usually the coupe version of a car is revealed ahead of its convertible model. But it was vice versa for the new BMW 6 Series. First we got the cabrio and then in a few months the highly anticipated coupe arrives.

As one of the world’s best Grand Tourers, the 2012 BMW 6 Series Coupe maintains the good qualities of the old model while trying to address its issues. The main issue with the old one was the way it looked. Some people thought it was horribly ugly while others liked it and called it groundbreaking. It was certainly a fascinating car, but it was rally vulgar!

The new one gets a more normal design with proper head and taillights and and no massive bits on the trunk lid. They’ve dialed down the lunacy so the new 6er looks more grown up and frankly more elegant. But the same group of people who liked the old one are going to be disappointed by the 2012 model. They will find it, well, boring.

BMW 6 Series coupe has got the recipe for a perfect GT spot on. It is big and imposing and luxurious and comfi and spacious, and it comes with a big engine, and it goes like a stabbed rat! It has 75 millimetres longer wheelbase than the predecessor model enhancing seating comfort for rear passengers; extremely sporty appearance thanks to a 39-millimetre increase in width and 5-millimetre reduction in height.

The car will launch with two models, 640i and 650i. The V8 powered 650 gets eight-cylinder powerplant (300 kW/407 hp) while the 640 benefits from a six-in-line petrol unit (235 kW/320 hp). Both engine variants come as standard with an eight-speed Sports automatic gearbox and BMW EfficientDynamics technologies. The 640 gets Auto Start-Stop function and ECO PRO model.

The 6er has always been a truly over engineered car and the new one is no exception. They’ve tweaked almost everything and used a newly developed chassis. It is the only car in the segment available with Electric Power Steering and optional Integral Active Steering; Drive Dynamic Control fitted as standard, Dynamic Damper Control and Adaptive Drive optional. It is also first car in the segment with Adaptive LED Headlights for low and high beam, including cornering function, foglamps and rear lights also with LED technology.

It also gets a new verison of BMW iDrive system that gets BMW ConnectedDrive features, including latest-generation BMW Head-Up Display (with high-definition, full-colour-spectrum graphics), rear-view camera, Surround View, Speed Limit Info, BMW Night Vision and Parking Assistant.  Other unique features and options include comfort and sports seats, active seats, seat ventilation, Exclusive Nappa leather, ceramic applications, and a newly developed and model-specific Bang & Olufsen High-End Surround Sound System.
