NOS Energy Drink held a Celebrity Go-Kart Challenge at K1 Speed in Ontario, CA to kick-off NASCAR weekend. This special charity event benefitted the "Kyle Busch Foundation." NASCAR driver Kyle Busch and Formula DRIFT driver Chris Forsberg hosted the event racing against celebrities that included actor William Fichtner, model/actress Kimberley Leemans, MMA fighter Josh Barnett and Chef Holli winner of "Hell's Kitchen." Kyle Busch came out on top with the fastest lap time of the day, but the real winner was the Kyle Busch Foundation who received a check for $10,000 from NOS Energy Drink.

The event began with 30 drivers given driving instructions by Kyle Busch and Chris Forsberg to better prepare them before getting on the track. The 30 drivers were broken up into groups of 10 and given a 10 lap practice session followed by a 10 lap qualifying session. The top 3 drivers from each group were selected based on fastest lap time and would advance into the main event versus Kyle Busch and Chris Forsberg.

2011 Global RallyCross Irwindale Speedway

This new series features two classes of cars – 2WD and AWD – competing in a 3-lap closed circuit race made up of both dirt and asphalt sections. In each race, drivers must take an alternate path known as the "joker" during one of their laps. This weekend's "joker" route featured a 70' gap jump crossing over the track underneath. You can probably guess that this was the highlight of the course for most spectators. As you can see in our photo gallery – there were quite a few rough landings!
