2011 Lexus LS 460 Touring Edition is limited version of the Japanese manufacturer’s flagship sedan for America. They call it the Touring because they want it to sound exciting and appeal to younger buyers. But the car’s features is still very mature and grown-up. For instance you get a magnificent leather and wood interior trim which is fantastic, but not sporty in any way At $73,000, the price is also way too expensive for most young people. Lexus should let the LS remain a business-class, slightly boring, luxury saloon and stop giving it cool names! The 2011 LS 460 Touring Edition will be available on both the LS 460 Rear Wheel Drive and All-Wheel Drive models. It will be distinguished from other LS models by a Smoky Granite Mica exterior, and following equipment:

This is Wald International’s take on the good old Jaguar XJ. The iconic British saloon looks good in the Black Bison outfit. Although a Japanese body kit on a stylish and dignified saloon car sounds like a terrible mix-up, but Wald’s Black Bison kits look good on everything! The XJ’s design, in one way or the other, has been with us for over forty years. And the Bison kit with its 2011 features like the LED lights, diffuser and the tail spoiler suits it really well. Alright, maybe the diffuser is a bit too much, but the rest of it is just fine. It’s great to see some tuners take a break from the daily business and ordinary cars, and pay attention to the legendary models of the past.

| Hofele Design VW Touareg Royal GT 470 Posted: 18 Jun 2011 06:26 AM PDT
Hofele Design can’t stop working on Volkswagen Touareg and came up with yet another package for it. The latest kit based on the latest Touareg is called the Royal GT 470. Now that’s the most irrelevant name because VW means people’s car and it’s in no way royalty, and the Touareg is a full-size SUV not a GT! Apart from the stupid name the rest of the car is alright. The front-end is dominated by a new grille and some add-on bits for the bumper with fog lamps in them! Hofele keeps boasting the extended wheel arches and thinks they give the car a more a more significant presence. Well, sort of. At the back the new apron offers a sporty diffuser and four-new tailpipes.Complementing the body kit is the new set of designer wheels available in size 20 to 22 inch. The interior treatment is really nice and includes Hofele’s Bi-color Star-Light leather upholstery. You will also find that on door panels and armrests. Hofele also fits the car with an electric suspension module that lowers it by 40mm. When you go past 80km/h the car’s standard height is restored to provide comfort. They have also tweaked the 3.0 TDI CR from 240 PS to 275 PS and the torque from 500 Nm to 580 Nm. It can now provide 229 km/h top speed and 0-100 km/h acceleration in 6.9 seconds.

| 450-hp BMW 1M Coupe By TechTec Posted: 18 Jun 2011 06:09 AM PDT
Techtec chiptuning somehow managed to squeeze an extra 120 hp out of BMW 1M Coupe’s straight-six. The modifications are rather deep and includes air intake system, intercooler, ECU tweak, and Akrapovic exhausts system, which besides power will also make the car sound much nicer. With a total 450 hp and 680 Nm of torque at the disposal of his right foot, the driver of this 1M can make 100 km/h in slightly over 4 seconds. Of course if you think you don’t need this much power in your life, they do less powerful, cheaper versions with 400 or 380 hp. But in order to really enjoy it, you gotta have the full-fat 450-hp model, especially as they remove the top speed limiter! Not sure about the brakes, but Techtec has upgraded the suspension with KW components.

| Video: Hot Wheels World Record Jump Practice Session Posted: 18 Jun 2011 05:55 AM PDT If you thought Tanner Foust’s Hot Wheels world record jump at this year’s Indy 500 was cool, check out this practice jump! After watching this the actual jump seems a bit, well, boring. In this test Tanner apparently hits the ramp way too fast and the speed upsets the car’s balance in the air. Fortunately the modified suspension do its thing and saves the car and the driver from a tragic accident. So that amazing record damn nearly killed Tanner Foust! |
